What is the size of the Resort property?
Our resort spans nearly 12 wooded acres, offering a peaceful Northwoods setting with over 900 feet of private shoreline along scenic Bashaw Lake. Guests have plenty of space to relax, explore, and enjoy nature.
Where is the Resort situated on the Lake?
The resort is positioned on the northeast side of Bashaw Lake, with the property stretching north to south along the shoreline. From this location, guests enjoy beautiful west-facing lake views, making for stunning sunsets from the cabins, fishing piers, and campground area.
Is it a level walk to the lake?
The resort features over 900 feet of lake frontage with a fairly gentle slope leading down to the piers near the cabins. Most guests find the walk to the water comfortable and manageable. Access to the piers closest to the campground is provided by a set of steps or a gently sloping path, making it easy to enjoy the lake from multiple points on the property.
What wildlife exists on or around the resort?
Guests at Bashaw Lake Resort enjoy observing a diverse range of wildlife on and near the property. Common sightings include white-tailed deer, beavers, woodchucks, muskrats, chipmunks, rabbits, turtles, frogs, garter snakes, three types of local squirrels (gray, red, and black), and skinks, a native short-legged lizard. Bird watchers will appreciate the variety of species such as grouse, woodpeckers, orioles, cardinals, blue jays, wild turkeys, ducks, geese, herons, cranes, swans, hummingbirds, and loons. Occasional sightings of black bears, foxes, bobcats, coyotes, badgers, and porcupines have also been reported. Bald eagles are frequently seen soaring over Bashaw Lake, with a known, active eagle’s nest located in a tree on the lake’s south end.
Is there a boat landing?
Yes. A public boat landing is conveniently located on the same side of Bashaw Lake as the Resort, just south of the property and easily accessible by road. Guests using the resort’s 12- to 14-foot aluminum boats will find them already in the water, securely tied to the docks and ready for use.
How old is the Resort?
Historical records indicate that a resort has operated on this property since shortly after World War II, with confirmed existence by the 1950s. The resort appears on a 1969 State of Wisconsin survey map of Bashaw Lake. Over the decades, the property has had several owners. We purchased Bashaw Lake Resort at the end of 2012.
How long have you owned the Resort?
We became the owners of Bashaw Lake Resort in November 2012 and spent the following year making renovations and improvements. The cabins officially opened to guests in 2014, and the campground reopened in 2015.

Guests will find a diverse mix of wild and cultivated plants at Bashaw Lake Resort. The property includes strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, rhubarb, peonies, lilies, irises, chives, and other perennial flowers, along with a typical variety of native forest vegetation. A small vegetable garden and a recently added greenhouse enhance the natural beauty of the resort. Future plans include expanding both the flower and vegetable gardens and planting a small orchard.
Do you have a "sand beach"? Can you swim in the lake from the Resort?
While Bashaw Lake Resort does not have a sand beach, guests can swim and float from the resort’s piers, which also offer excellent fishing opportunities. Swimming is at your own risk as no lifeguards are on duty. Some guests enjoy swimming from their own pontoon boats on the lake. For those looking for a traditional sandy beach experience, there is a public sand beach located about 20 minutes away in Shell Lake, and another about the same distance away in Siren, Wisconsin.
What other buildings or structures are on the property?
In addition to the cabins and campsites, the resort property includes a main office, the owners’ residence, and a garage/workshop for equipment and vehicles. A 9x12 utility barn with a freezer for fish cleaning waste, a dedicated fish cleaning house, several storage sheds, and a large pole barn for storage and workspace are also on site.
